Admiral Marina & Leisure Club
- Lovely facilities located right on the Malacca Straits as Port
Dickson.

Restaurant/Pub, Hotel,
Swimming Pool, movie theatrette which shows different movies (VCDs) every
day, tennis courts, gymnasium. Fax, and photocopy services available at
Reception. 119 Berths. The docks do NOT have a water hook-up at each
berth. *There are a couple of water taps available on the docks with long
hoses attached for everyone to use. The water quality is good.

Advantages
- Located right on Malacca Strait - no river to
negotiate.
- Beautiful clubhouse facilities.
- Bus stop located near marina.
- Protective breakwater.
- Easy access to both Melaka and Kuala Lumpur.

Disadvantages
- Not within walking distance to any cruising amenities
- Does NOT have a convenience store as stated on marina
literature.
- No self-service laundry facilities.

| Grocery Stores - Billions
located across the street from the bus station in Port Dickson.
It is located at the far end of the strip mall which also has a KFC.
This supermarket has a reasonable selection of dry goods, but not a good
produce section. There is a wet market and several fruit markets
around the center of town. Self-Service Laundry - No self service
laundry at marina, but they do have laundry service available which is
charged by the piece.
Internet Access - If
you want to use your own PC, you must go to Reception where you can use a
phone line. The charge was 5 rg. per hour.

Currency Exchange Services

- Resort Hotel (the exchange rate is not the
best.)
- Money changer at the Bus station in Port Dickson.
Also there are many banks in Port Dickson.
Propane Gas Canister Refill - Canisters
are picked and delivered back at the marina office. Have the marina
office arrange for pick up. Postal Services - Mail
may be sent out at resort. There is a post office in Port Dickson
where stamps may be purchased. |

Chandleries - Small chandlery with items mostly for power
boats |

Small yacht maintenance yard at Admiral Marina. A crane is used to
lift the boats out of the water. |

 The following are services or places visited and recommended by Bob and
Judi. We can only say that our experience was a good one and we hope that
you will also have a favorable experience.
Restuarants -
- Shajan's Curry House
located in Port Dickson. Clean, inexpensive and
friendly. Great Roti.
- Eli's Cafe -
located across from the bus station along the street with
all the banks - on the way to the Port Clearance office.

Cinemas - The
Admiral Marina has a small theatrette which shows different
movies every night for free. The quality is sometimes
poor, but you can't beat the price. Bring your own popcorn
or snacks and enjoy. |
