Anchorages

There are a plethora of beautiful anchorages along the south coast of Turkey, but none in which you would want to spend the winter.  The best source for anchorages and marinas is the Imray Turkey and Cyprus Pilot

Marmaris Bay has anchorages all around the perimeter of the bay, and several marinas available for foreign yachts.  Entry to the bay is normally through the center channel between the islands.

  • Chandlery on premises.

Disadvantages

  • 20-25 minutes away from the town of Marmaris.  There is a free shuttle boat provided by the marina that runs once a day during the winter or twice in the summer, but it does not run in rough weather.  There is a dolmus stop at the marina gate.

  • Frequent power outages in winter storms.  The marina does have a generator which sometimes supplies service to the docks.

  • LOTS of mosquitoes both in summer and winter.  The library and nearby toilet block have "clouds" of mosquitoes.

  • NO cruiser meeting room available.  The Library can be used for meetings only - NO drinking or parties permitted
